Today I was looking for some little jokes in the Pandora Directive and I found the image to the right to be funny
First, they've dressed a Llama up in Santa clothes and he's smoking. Second that little message at the side: Hey kids, Don't Let Llama Clause down, start smoking his cigs before he hits town! Next, the Surgeon General's warning says: "When you smoke you suck." And, lastly if you turn up the brightness on your monitor you will notice that there is a little sign underneath which says Larsen, that is referring to Nathan Larsen, one of the Art Director's of the Pandora Directive. |

Some of the spraypainting in the alley behind Rook's is a reference to Under a Killing Moon. The one on the left say "No Key". In this spot in Under a Killing Moon you'll find a key. The one on the right says "Choco Man". This is where you'll find Clint's (the chocaholic's) dumpster in Under a Killing Moon.
If you look in one of the cupboards at the morgue, you'll see a head in a jar. This is actually Pug's head from Under a Killing Moon. He'd been decapitated by the Chameleon, and his head was stuffed in Tex's watercooler. |
In the article "Movies and Shakers" from the newspaper from Rook's trashcan it mentions that a 91-year-old Bruce Willis is currently working on Die Hard XVIII in which there is a terrorist plot to take over a Fort Lauderdale retirement community. Die Hard is a popular film series that starred Bruce Willis. Also in this article it says that the film "Waterworld" finally broke even. Waterworld was a 1995 film starring Kevin Costner.
If you look at the orange painting on the wall in Tex's office (to the right of the front door) Tex says, "This alien landscape reminds me of the Old Star Trek episode where they get that distress call, then Captain Kirk meets that beautiful woman, then he and Spock barely escape, then Kirk makes that funny joke right at the end." This is obviously a reference to the popular 60s television series Star Trek.

In the Electronics Shop there are "Geordi LaForge visors." Geordi LaForge was a character from Star Trek: The Next Generation played by LeVar Burton who wore a special visor to help him see.
In Storage Room 102 at Roswell there is something that resembles a bowling ball on the shelf. When you look at it, Tex says that it looks like Fred Flintstone's bowling ball. This is obviously a reference to the popular 60s animated series "The Flintstones" in which Fred and his friend Barney Rubble often bowled. |
In the Metallurgy Lab at Roswell (accessed via the ventilation shaft) there is a tank in one corner of the room. When you look at it, Tex says, "I haven't seen tanks like this before, except on Seaquest." Seaquest was a television series that ran in the early 90s. It took place on a submarine sometime in the not so distant future.
In the Miscellaneous Storage room of the third level of Roswell, there is an object sitting on top of the crate with the striker. If you look at it, Tex says, "Looks like a leg fell off an Imperial Walker." This is a reference to Star Wars. In "The Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi" the Imperial troops use these large machines, shown to the right. |
When you call up Archie Ellis, there is a possible response called "Hobbit Humor". When you select this Tex says "I am Gandalf, Wielder of the Glamdring and Slayer of the Balrog." This is a reference to The Hobbit / Lord of the Rings Trilogy by JRR Tolkien. To the left is a shot of Gandalf facing the Balrog in the movie adaptation of The Fellowship of the Ring.
If you look at the painting at the bottom of the stairwell in the Ritz Hotel, Tex will mention Sam and Max, the characters from a LucasArts adventure game. It was also made into an animated television series. |
