The Ending
After completing the story of Overseer, Tex is a little down, believing that Gideon was right about Overlord. Chelsee explains that he wasn't and after a while makes Tex feel a little better. Later after dinner Tex and Chelsee walk out of the restaurant. Tex puts a cigarette in his mouth, but Chelsee pulls it out and throws it to the ground then says, "I've got something better for you to do than that." then she kisses Tex, twice.
After a while, during the second kiss Tex opens his eyes and screams "Oh no!".
Chelsee thinking it was her breath tries to apologize to Tex.
Tex says, "No it has nothing to do with you. Look our speeder has been stolen. Someone has stolen our car!"
Tex goes out into the middle of the road and sits down on a grate, then screams in pain from the heat of the grate. Chelsee calms him down by telling him that they can take a taxi home and the next day they could call the insurance company. Then we find out that Tex let his policy expire because he was never using it. Chelsee says that they could call the cops and that maybe they could find it.
Tex then says,"Oh yeah I'm sure the police are going to drop everything for Murphy's missing speeder."
Right after that a speeder comes down and the door opens.
"Hey are you guys saving that spot or what?" asks the Australian man inside.
"Hell no. If you want it take it!" says Tex.
"Is everything all right?" asks the man.
"Actually our speeder was just stolen," says Chelsee.
"Oh, bummer. Tell you what. Do you guys want a lift to the copshop?"
"No thank you we'll walk," says Tex.
Chelsee whispers to Tex, "He's really just doing us a favour."
"Chelsee I've got a really bad feeling about this, some sort of Déjà Vu." Tex whispers.
"It's probably because you're upset over the loss of your speeder," she whispers then says to the man, "You know what we would really like a ride. Would you?"
"Hop in," says the man.
"Oh look his hat is even uglier than yours," says Chelsee.
"What's wrong with my hat?" asks Tex.
Tex and Chelsee get in the speeder, Chelsee in the front passenger seat and Tex in the back. The speeder takes off.
"What a shame to lose such a beautiful parking spot," says the man.
"Yeah, well thanks for reminding me," says Tex.
"Sorry," says then man.
Tex takes a look out his window and sees a floating billboard . The billboard is advertising Faberge World Tour '44. Tex now thinks back to Harley Fenwick's Little box of PI rules. PI rule #24 was Never Take Rides From Strangers.
He leans forward and whispers to Chelsee, "I don't think this was a very good idea."
"Well what do you want me to do about it?" asks Chelsee.
"Now that we're 50 feet of the ground I don't know!"
"Who's your mate," asks the man who introduced himself to Chelsee and Dalton.
"Oh that's Tex. He's been having a really bad day." says Chelsee.
"Is that true Tex?" asks Dalton.
"Oh no everything's just going peachy!"
"Well things could get worser."
Tex then realizes something's wrong. He had heard that somewhere before. His nightmare!
But it was too late. Dalton pulls out a gun shoots Chelsee in the neck. Then he turns around, aims at Tex and fires.
To be continued...
What could happen next time?
The pieces of the puzzle:
The shooting:
Chelsee was shot in the neck meaning death or paralysis, unless of course, as most of you have been saying it was a dart then she's only unconscious.
They never showed where Tex was hit, perhaps he wasn't hit at all.
Sonny, Slade and Dalton:
Why was it that Big Jim Slade and Dalton were both chosen as Australians? Could they be the same person? Could they be related? Slade did vow revenge after Tex caught him.
Did you notice what Sonny was wearing when he died? Well you might have noticed he was wearing a black shirt and a cowboy-type hat. Then during the clocktower fight scene Slade was wearing the same black shirt.
Then at the end Dalton was wearing that shirt and a cowboy hat. Could this mean something? Tex did say he never knew who killed Sonny Fletcher. Could it have been Dalton, Tex just guessed that it was Slade.
Another interesting fact, at the beginning of the game you hear "Things could be worser... worser." but it wasn't the voice of Dalton. Who's voice was it? Big Jim Slade or someone else?
Faberge World Tour '44:
It's funny but twice in the game they bring to your attention a floating billboard advertising a world tour and Faberge eggs. The second time the billboard passed (ending scene) the French national anthem was playing. Why? Could it be a place where Tex will visit later on? Also at the beginning of the game Faberge eggs come out of the San Francisco Bay and showed a mysterious woman. Who was that? Access Software claims that it was Miss Austria a character cut out of Overseer. They might be telling the truth, but wait a second, Mean Streets! There was no one named Miss Austria or anything like that. Could she be a character later on?
Bosworth Clark's lab:
Did you notice something funny at Boswroth's lab? That's right there was a satellite view of Ontario, New York, Michigan. Why would he be looking at that part of the world. It was not relevant at any part of the story. Perhaps that and France are a location in Faberge World Tour '44.
The Dream:
At the beginning of Overseer we find that Tex is having a nightmare, and we know this nightmare is predicting a lot about the future of Tex, with lines like "Is your daddy dead?", "Overlord is the hope!" and "Things could get worser.". So what if the rest of the dream is telling something. We now know that Polarity will, for at least part of it, trake place in the 1920's or 30's. And remember that clock at the begininng of Overseer whcih Carl Linsky climbs out of? Did you notice Tex's face on the minute hand whcih was moving counter clockwise? How often do you see a Clock going counter clockwise? Most likely never. This indicates the possibility of time travel, and the fact that Tex's face is on the hand means that Tex is travelling back in time.
One other line that no one has mentioned was something with the word "muerte" (Did I spell that right?). If I'm not mistaken that is death in Spanish. And who speaks Spanish in Overseer? That's right Sonny Fletcher. Could he be trying to tell Tex something in his dream, warning him, after all he is dead and perhaps he is controlling Tex's dreams, to stop him from, getting in the Speeder with Dalton, by showing Chelsee screaming and repeating the words "Things could get worser." If it is Sonny warning Tex then we can be sure Tex is tied up in something really dangerous. More dangerous than anything he has ever encountered before, most likely time travel, after all if you can control time you can rule the world, and ultimately destroy all life in the Universe as we know it. Getting excited?
